Stephen Williams,

Stephen Williams, M.D., M.P.H, an interventional cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients with heart and vascular conditions. Dr. Williams is board certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and vascular medicine. He is widely recognized for his skill in both minimally invasive heart procedures and advanced vascular treatments. He has been honored with multiple teaching awards for mentoring the next generation of physicians. He previously served as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Meritus Medical Center, where he specializes in treating blocked arteries, coronary heart disease, and complex vascular problems.

Dr. Williams completed his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at Stanford
University, followed by a master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health and his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard) and completed cardiology fellowships at UCSF and the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Williams spent 15 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he directed the Vascular Medicine Center and served as Associate Professor of Medicine. He also helped lead the cardiac catheterization program at Frederick Health Hospital and previously held faculty positions at Stanford University Medical Center and the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Williams has contributed to the development of innovative cardiovascular devices, helping bring new treatment options from early research through FDA approval. He continues to advise major medical companies in advancing safe and effective therapies for heart and vascular disease.
