Position Title: Senior Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the effective design, architecture, and operation of enterprise wide databases for large medical practice. Design & develop relational database management systems using SQL Server 2005/2008 and SAN storage & capacity planning. Leverage Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase Database, SQL Database and Postgre Database related reporting, Performance Tuning tools and Query Optimization for utility software, including MicroMD and Acronis. Design and develop reporting tools, including EncaptureMD and Document Retrieval System. Create interfaces to migrate and develop EMR (electronic medical records) for compliance with new healthcare regulations. Create databases to provide interfacing with laboratories, Patient Portals (for patients to access their health information) and pharmacies into new EMR system using ASMX WebServices, SOAP, XML/XSLT, AJAX, .NET Remoting and .NET 3.5 technologies. Ensure database security, and handle all troubleshooting, capacity planning, and maintenance issues. Support application developers in the design and implementing of physical database structures, and monitor server and database performance. Write manuals, document operating procedures and assist users in solving problems. Utilize incremental product delivery methods through iterative SDLC/Agile, SCRUM/RUP approach in project management tools. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and one year of experience as a Database Administrator. Must have experience with design and development of Sybase and SQL databases for healthcare management or electronic medical records software. All experience may be concurrent. Required experience may be gained before, during or after completion of required degree.
