Originally from India, Dr. Rao earned his M.B.B.S degree (equivalent to M.D.) from the Mysore Medical College at Mysore University in 1969. In 1971, he moved to the United States where he finished his Internal Medicine Residency and his Cardiology Fellowship. Dr. Rao is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and nuclear cardiology.
After years of serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area at eight local hospitals, Dr. Rao established himself as an integral part of Doctors Community Hospital. |

| In 1987, he became their Chief of Cardiology and later went on to become their Co-Director of Cath Lab in 1990. Because of his dedication to quality patient care, he co-founded Capitol Cardiology Associates, P.A. in 1991 where he continues his commitment to providing the highest standard of cardiovascular care. He is a Fellow of American College of Physicians and a Fellow of American College of Cardiology. |
